Design Week in New York is always a mixed bag, and this year was no different. Our team made it to a bunch of events across the city — here’s a quick recap.
We started the week at the Pratt and Parsons grad shows. Common themes: AI, mental health, and pets. Make of that what you will.
Sherry attended her first ICFF and was glad to see that the prediction she made in 2023 in fact came true - Fat blocky furniture is indeed trending.
We all loved the self-playing piano! Hope to see more ghosts at ICFF next year!
We also attended the souvenir exhibit opening night and saw some very clever trinkets.
We love seeing designers’ interpretations of what makes New York New York, and how we always find garbage, rats and pizza in the mix. Greatest city in the world!
Frog and IDSA organized a great WinexDesign night and it was great to catch up with everyone in the industry. We mostly talked about tariffs and sighed.
The DumboxDesign closing party was a blast! We were not-so-surprised find out that Dumbo has officially been declared as the New York Design district (yay Brooklyn!)
Special mention - The Small Muji exhibit was adorable. Also gave us a chance to stock up on stationary.
We ended the week (more like 3 weeks!) with a low-key hang post design week partnering with Women in Design New York Chapter to talk about what we saw, what we liked and what we thought. Next year, we promise to take more photos.
